Fundraising for World Cancer Research Fund
Story
Hi All, thanks for viewing Lewis & David's Just Giving page.
It is a sad fact that we are all likely to know of family, friends, neighbours, work colleagues or someone who has undergone the ravages of cancer.
This will be Lewis's third London marathon & David's first, having said that, we both trained together for Lewis's previous two London marathons. The training brought us closer together as friends as we encouraged each other to keep going on cold winter mornings with our training programme, the motivation being that all money raised will help prevent others going through the terrible consequences of cancer treatment & in too many cases the loss of loved ones!
Your donation will help fund research as scientists look to further understand the various causes of cancer, also to help identify those at high risk & advice to all people that a healthier lifestyle can help prevent cancer. Scientists estimate that around 40 per cent of cancer cases in the UK could be prevented, which based on the last published statistics is estimated to be around 144000 people every year.
The more funding that World Cancer Research Fund UK receive the greater the impact on reducing the number of preventable cancer cases ever occurring.
Our part is to raise awareness of the vital need for funding, may we thank you so much to all of you who have donated to this life changing opportunity to ensure a healthier future for all of us.
