Story

A team of 7 from Lake District Estates has entered the ‘Holme Howler’ 10k
obstacle race to raise money for a great cause close to one of our colleague’s
heart. Our Head of Projects, Stuart Hunter lost his wife, Jo, on 11th
March 2017 to cancer. So appreciative of the help and support he received during this difficult time, he’ll like to raise some money to help the charity support more people during their time of need.

In Stuart’s own words…“I’m running the Holme Howler for Cancer Care North Lancashire and South Lakeland because I want to raise funds for those in need and this fantastic charity helped my family through a horrible time.  This 14th July (the day we
race) would have been my wife’s 42nd birthday, but Jo died of cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer) 11th March 2017.   I can’t run 10cm, never mind 10K, so this is going to be a challenge!”

Lake District Estates will be match fund donations up to £1000, so any contribution really will make a difference !

Also taking part in the event will be David Little - CEO, Steven McAvoy – Waterfoot Caravan Park Manager, Rachel Mather – PA and HR, Sam Little – Holiday Home Sales Manager at Hill of Oaks, Scott Jeffery H&S Officer and Julie Bolland – Housekeeping Supervisor.

The Holme Howler is a 10km race with 25 obstacles along the way.  It will be
the first time any of the team have attempted this type of challenge.

Thank you in advance for any generous donation.
