Greater London Fund for the Blind

We raise funds for blind welfare services to support visually impaired people

Charity Registration No. 1074958

As I type this, I am smiling at the reaction some of you may have when I announce that this year, (actually in 12 short weeks from now),  - 23rd April 2017 9am GMT - I will be raring to go at the starting line of the London Marathon.

An unlikely suspect I realise to complete such a race!  Truth be told, I haven't really run much longer than a few km’s before, so this is going to be interesting!

With my imminent move to live in New York and a two-week work trip in India planned, my training schedule is less than ideal and will need all the support that I can get!

Completing all 42 km's / 26 miles of this iconic marathon has always been on the bucket list for me and WHEN I complete this, I want  to make it really count - and that's where you all come in.

For most of us, our eyesight is something we take for granted -  being fortunate enough to read this note with healthy eyes and 'see' each day as it unfolds. Unfortunately, this is not the case for everyone.  Living in a world of darkness can be a lonely experience indeed.

Both my Nan & Grandad were born with poor eyesight, eventually, both lost their sight in there early 40’s & 50’s, imagine what that must of been like - your whole world changes in a heartbeat.  My Dad spent 18 years working for the Greater London Fund For The Blind (GLFB), which is a non-profit organisation dedicated to vital work for visually impaired children and adults in the local community.

So this is where I ask for your support, in supporting the run of my life, so that in turn, I can make a contribution on behalf of all of us into GLFB and make a real difference for people living with blindness.

Every donation matters not matter how small - I would really appreciate it as I want to all contribute towards my goal of £1500 /$3,000 and I know you all will want to help me achieve this outstanding achievement.

You can also follow the training progress via: Any words of encouragement are appreciated and feel free to question any lack of activity!

I really, really appreciate your support and please feel free to share this link out.
