Story
So, 8 years ago when I received a bone marrow transplant, I had no idea that I would be facing another cancer challenge in 2021.
Well, I find myself facing chemo for ovarian cancer (a more rare type I'm told but there's no surprise there!) - I am thrilled to say that it is stage 1 but that does not mean that this is easy sailing.
Life is worth fighting for and living is to be celebrated even when it's tough. and that's my mantra I guess.
Anyway, my chemo starts soon and because my surgeon said I will be receiving the 'Gold Standard' of chemo, my hair will definitely be falling out.
Now I'm not one to let things happen to me if I can do something about it, so I have decided to do a fundraising event for St Peter and St James Hospice (where I work). On Saturday October 9th at 11am, my hairdresser is going to create a Mohican with my hair, all in rainbow colours. Then I will be having it all shaved off!
