Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am a Mariposa Hero and I’m here to raise 1000 pounds in 12 months for the Mariposa Trust.
In 1984 at 26 weeks I gave birth to my first son, Matthew, unfortunately Matthew only lived for minutes and was quickly taken away from me. I couldn’t register his birth or have a funeral and I’ve never been told what happened to him , I’ve searched in vain to find out so I created my own memorial for him in my garden.
I was 19urs old, I was given no support or guidance and when I tried to find out why this had happened the specialist at the hospital said my time would be better spent getting on with it and trying for another baby. I had midwives knocking my door to check how my pregnancy was going but no one knew how to treat me or what to say.
This is my reason for fundraising, no one should ever experience this , support is needed and Saying Goodbye are there to offer support.
