2017 Stirling Marathon · 21 May 2017 ·
On May 21st I will be taking part in the Stirling Marathon to raise funds for the Nicola Murray Foundation and Lloyds Banking Group’s charity partner for the year, Mental Health UK.
The Nicola Murray Foundation has been set up in the Memory of Nicola Murray, the sister of one of my good friends, as a means to perpetuate the care and concern that Nicola showed to others in her life. Nicola Murray was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer in January 2010, she sadly died on 28th April 2010, less than 4 months later, aged 34. The speed of the progression of her illness resulting in her death was a shock to everyone close to her. She requested that any fundraising in her name should benefit those with Ovarian cancer. More info on this important charity can be found here.
Most of you will all be aware of the work that Mental Health UK do, but in case you would like any more information on their work please visit the website. Given 1 in 4 people across the UK will experience a mental health issue each year, the impact of mental health on our society is massive. As a Group we are proud to support such a worthy cause – I will be sharing all funds raised equally between the Nicola Murray Foundation and Mental Health UK.
I’d be really grateful for any support you can provide towards these two causes.
Thank you for your support,
Donald
