Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On Monday 16th August 2015 I kissed my only son Pete goodbye he was going on holiday with his wife Donna and their daughter Jenni for their last family holiday before Jenni started at primary school. Never in my worst dreams did I think the day Jenni started school would be the day of Pete's funeral.

The last time I spoke to Pete was the day he died he told me that Donna and Jenni were in the swimming pool they were all on holiday in Cornwall. We talked about normal things ... we're the dogs okay, what was I doing today, what was the weather like... 2 hours later Donna rang " Pete's in the back of an ambulance you need to come" she rang her Dad to drive me, she knew it would be to far for me to come on my own .... that was the beginning of my nightmare. A mere 2 hours later Donna rang again " He's gone" I couldn't take it in, what was she saying, no she's got it wrong Pete couldn't be dead I'd only spoken to him that morning.

Jenni started school as normal, it was the one thing we could control, they were great with her, yes her learning was behind, yes she struggled with her emotions but who wouldn't she had been through a lot, who at the tender age of 4 can watch their father die and not be affected by it. She shouted at her friends when she got upset she didn't know why ... we did.

School was worried so was Donna they spoke to Jigsaw who said yes they could help, a nice lady called Heather came to home she spoke with Jenni she also went into school she gave the teacher tips on how to manage Jenni's anger and frustration "she's not bad she's sad" they talked about Daddy and what he meant to her ... she gave Jenni a voice to talk about how she was feeling.

That's why Donna and Jenni want to raise money for Jigsaw SE please support this wonderful charity they really do help.
