Story

Geoff's garden, Driftwood Garden East Sussex, is also open by arrangement from 1st June to 31st August and all proceeds go to Macmillan Cancer Support as well. During the Summer he runs a raffle of artist donated prizes for Macmillan too, tickets available at garden opeings. Full details at www.driftwoodbysea.co.uk

Back in 2012, Geoff set up the first garden trail and it has gone from strength to strength, through the generosity of garden owners, their volunteers and the many visitors who come and spend money.

The generous people of Sussex raised £3.7m to help fund the building of the Macmillan Horizon Centre, but more is still needed. The running costs of the centre are covered by Macmillan Cancer Support, and services provided by a team of skilled local volunteers. Macmillan is funded solely by donations and the running costs of the centre are over £650,000 per annum.

All monies raised from this trail will support Macmillan in it's operation. Over £54000 has now been raised by Geoff's Driftwood Fundraising Group since 2012!  The monies raised up until December 2017, has funded the centre's services for 5 weeks.

Sarah Coxhill, Senior Fundraising Manager said of Geoff Stonebanks after the 2017 trail: "I couldn't miss the opportunity to say a huge congratulations on what is already set to be a record year. The coverage alone is priceless. Thanks so much for the tireless work and commitment you show year on year, it's such a good example to the local and even national community."

All the monies raised from entrance fees to the gardens, monies raised by selling raffle tickets, along with the proceeds from the sales of teas and coffees will go towards maintaining and operating the new Cancer Support Centre in Brighton. Any stalls operated in the gardens will donate a percentage of their proceeds to the charity as well.

In recognition of Geoff's support for Macmillan Cancer Support and a thank you for him having made a significant difference to the charity and to those suffering with cancer, he has been invited to a reception with HRH Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace in January 2018.

Thanks for taking the time to visit Geoff's JustGiving page. Fundraising is hugely important to Macmillan.
