We are the UK’s leading charity fighting to ensure a better future for young minds

Story

The East Coast Icicles are a relay team made up of school pupils from across East Anglia. We train in the sea at Felixstowe.
We are Brendan Bennett, Alfie Glendinning, Ollie Pick, Will Johnson, Charlotte Smith & Minnie Wayman.

In July The East Coast Icicles will attempt
to swim the English Channel, one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world, the 21 mile stretch of sea between England and France.

At the time of the swim the temperature
will be around 16 degrees - COLD! Our swim will take off from Shakespeare’s Beach, near Dover, and we will aim to reach Cap Griz Nez in France. It will probably take us around 15 hours. We are one of the youngest teams to ever attempt this challenge.

More people have climbed Everest than have swum the Channel.

We are raising funds for Young Minds. This charity supports children with mental health issues around the UK. Mental health problems in kids is a growing problem. One of our team members tragically lost a friend to mental health issues and we hope to raise as much money as possible to raise awareness and to help the charity support young people. Please, please sponsor us.
