Story

PLEASE READ ABOUT THE LIFE OF SHARON...  Hi, I’m Sharon and I'm Elle's Foster niece, I was 6 when her sister first fostered me, it was probably one of the best days ever. You see I'd been abused since I was born, I didn't know what it was not to be hungry, scared and cold, the day I met my new family was the beginning of an abuse free life, a life where I was loved very much, and cared for by a family that just wanted to keep me safe.

I grew up into adulthood and moved away from my foster family, and went on to have 3 children of my own who I loved very much, I was a single mum and it was very hard at times but I loved my children dearly. When I was 29 I started to feel unwell, I had a really bad pain in my foot that wouldn't go away, and regardless of many doctor appointments it just got worse. I then fell and broke my arm and it just wouldn't heal. I couldn't look after myself so I had to reach to social services who had no choice but to put my boys in care.

In 2012 just as I turned 30,  I was told that the pain in my foot that had been troubling me, and the broken arm that just would not mend, was the result of SARCOMA. Going undiagnosed for a number of months I was told it was very aggressive and advanced, and I neded to go urgently to The Christie Hospital for chemo. My Aunty Elle said she would travel to collect me and she would care for me and my boys at her home whilst I got better, I was really looking forward to seeing my family.

Aunty Elle never got the chance to help me, the next day I had a hemorrhage and was rushed into my local hospital. I never came out, I never saw my boys again, and I never got the hug I desperately needed from my Aunty Elle.

6 months from my diagnosis in June 2012 at 30 years of age I died from bone Sarcoma, a rare form of cancer which affects less than 1% of ALL new female cancer cases!

My name was Sharon Claire Samuel's and I died from Bone Sarcoma, I am still the very proud Mummy of Storm, Bradley and Marcus, but now I am their forever guardian angel.

As for my Aunty Elle, well she wanted to do something special in my memory. SHE WILL BE RUNNING LOTS OF RACES AND HALF MARATHONS READY FOR THE LONDON MARATHON IN OCTOBER 2022 for Sarcoma UK, an amazing charity which invests in research, as well as provides support to sufferers and their families fighting this evil disease

I know finances are tight after 18 months of a pandemic, people furloughed or made redundant, but if you can spare  just a few pennies that would make a huge difference... Every penny counts xx THANK YOU xx
