In June 2018 50% of the Protheroe family will be jumping out of a plane! Why? Because we want to raise money for two very special charities.

The first charity we have chosen is the Breast Cancer unit fund and Radiotherapy Radiographers Fund at the Churchill Hospital, Oxford. In late 2017 our Mum (Jayne) was diagnosed with breast cancer. Following surgery, she has recently undergone 4 weeks of radiotherapy at the Churchill. To thank all the amazing Doctors, Nurses and Radiographers in this department for putting up with our Mum on a daily basis as well as making her better, we would like to give something back.

The second charity is UCARE (Urology Cancer and Research Education), as no Protheroe family fundraiser could ignore this brilliant charity! UCARE supports research into the causes, prevention and treatment of urological cancers and to promote the development of new technologies to improve diagnosis and treatment for cancer patients. Urological cancers include those of the kidney, bladder, prostate and testes. They account for 1 in 5 of all cancers in men and women, yet the public profile is still relatively low.
