In 2012, at the age of 15, I collapsed with an extensive deep vein thrombosis, from my ankle, up my leg and into my stomach. This had a huge impact on my life and it has not been the same since. Climbing Mount Snowdon will be a very big person challenge for me, as until I had bypass surgery last year, I was unable to walk 10 minutes without being in tremendous pain. I want to raise money for this incredible charity that is so close to my heart and show other sufferers that our illnesses do not define us. I also want to raise awareness about blood clots. From my experience, people do not take these seriously enough. From simply being on the contraceptive pill, I nearly lost my life. Prevention is just as important as treatment.
