Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am setting myself the biggest challenge of my life by taking part in the London Marathon 2017. I have decided to take part in this challenge in memory of my youngest sister, Shannon. Shannon lost the biggest battle of her life to Acute Myeloid Leukaemia just 2 weeks before her 18th birthday in 2012.
Shannon had endured gruelling treatment which involved chemo, blood transfusions, bone marrow aspirations, countless blood tests, a bone marrow transplant and took so many medications over the space of 2 nearly 3 years after original diagnosis. Whilst going through all of this she continued to smile, crack jokes and have as much fun as she could. Shannon was loved by all who knew her and was a true fighter.
During her illness Shannon and my family received help and support from the CLIC Sargent charity. This included financial support, friendship and holiday to Scotland to my Mum and Step-dad with other bereaved families.
My family are extremely grateful for the help and support received and I would like to raise as much money as I can to help this charity help many more families around the UK that have to go through the torment and heartbreak of seeing a young loved one go though cancer treatment.
Thank you for reading my story and for your donations.
Much Love, Emma xx
