I am running the London Marathon again this year and would love to make all the long runs and hard work worth while by raising £2,500 for Jon's Trust. I am also determined to achieve a personal best of under 4hrs - a huge challenge requiring me to knock 22 minutes off my previous time…watch this space!

I will be supported by a wonderful team. Rod Royce and two of Jon's ex Red Arrow team mates, Kirsty Stewart and Ben Murphy will be running and raising money with me, every step of the 26.25miles.

The charity has achieved a great deal in the last 18 months. We have created an innovative and unique Blue Skies youth engagement programme for young people aged 13- 15 who are not reaching their potential.

Blue Skies creates partnerships with military and civilian enterprises to introduce young people to inspirational individuals and training environments that are connected to aviation. Though these partnerships young people gain the opportunity to build confidence, self-esteem and gain accredited training in work and life skills.

John Wiles, Deputy Head of our Lincolnshire school said:

'The programme certainly achieved its objectives...put simply the impact has been huge. The Staff have seen a real improvement in their behaviours and motivation to succeed which has borne fruit in the young people's overall academic outcomes'

In 2013 Blue Skies level 1 (teamwork) is running in Lincolnshire, Dorset and Norfolk. A level 2 programme (leadership) is being piloted in Lincolnshire and will be extended to Dorset and Norfolk in 2014. We also plan to expand Blue Skies to Yorkshire, Scotland and North Wales in 2014-2015.
