Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page.
After the amazing generosity of my friends and family enabled me to raise £500 for The Butterfly Thyroid Cancer Trust, my attention has now turned to raising money for a second amazing charity; the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
I'm aiming to raise at least £1000 for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity
My very good friend and PhD supervisor; Professor Geoff Petts was treated at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Chelsea from the start of the year right up until his death on August 11th.
I'd love to raise at least £1000 as a way of saying "thank-you" to the Royal Marsden Hospital and also to Geoff.
Geoff was an amazing person, definitely one in a million. The fact that he never had the opportunity to enjoy his retirement seems incredibly unfair. Making the most of every day is so important.
Geoff told me to "keep on jogging". I will Geoff. I won't let you down.
As I'm aware that running 13.1 miles isn't particularly difficult for me, I've also set myself the challenge of running at least 1000 km and completing 10 parkruns and 10 races in 2018.
The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity raises money solely to support The Royal Marsden, a world-leading cancer centre. We ensure our nurses, doctors and research teams can provide the very best care and develop life-saving treatments, which are used across the UK and around the world.
From funding state-of-the-art equipment and groundbreaking research, to creating the very best patient environments, we will never stop looking for ways to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.
So please, please dig deep and help me smash my fundraising target.
