We are moving further, faster to help everyone affected by a brain tumour

Story

Emma's family have created this page in memory of Emma and we have also set up The Emma Sim Fund in her honour, where all proceeds from this page will go into.

Emma was diagnosed March 2014 with a cancerous Brain tumour at the young age of 15. Emma fought a hard 20 months against her illness with so much courage for someone so young, her never give up attitude, her big smile and her sense of humour made it so much easier on us, she truly was an inspiration, using the slogan "Kill a Tumour with Humour".

Sadly Emma lost her battle at the young age of 17 on November 2015 after intense treatment of Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy during which she never once complained.

In Emma's Memory we would like to get above and beyond our target that we have set to help fund the research into the understanding of how and why brain tumours form. The Brain Tumour charity is determined to find a cure that has not yet been found to increase survival rates and to reduce the effect that brain tumours have on the quality of life.

Brain Tumours reduce life expectancy by on average of 20 years, the highest of all cancers but yet less than 2% of the £500m that the Cancer Research receive every year is spent on Brain Tumour research despite being the biggest cancer killer in children and adults under 40.

We would like to thank you for every donation made and the help into finding this cure as soon as possible so no more future family has to experience the heartache that Emma's family has went through.
