In 2012 my grandmother Elizabeth Roberts passed away at the grand old age of 100.  For the last 10 years of her life she suffered from dementia and it was hard especially for my mum to see this totally independent woman revert to being a child and then lose all sense of who we all were.  

The sad truth is, most people I know have similar stories.  For the last 7 years I have been trying to get into the London Marathon ballot and at last I have been successful and I will have great pleasure in running it in memory of a lovely lady to help a great cause.
