Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My wife Amy and I have decided to make a donation to the starfish children's ward and children's emergency department at Watford general hospital. If you know us or our story below please feel free to make your own donation.

Our 18 month old daughter Eva had a ketotic hypoglycaemic episode on the 1st December 2017, she was very sick and had to be attended to by the doctors in the children's emergency department. Subsequently Eva spent the next twelve days on the Starfish Children's ward where she needed constant care from the nurses and doctors. Thankfully Eva is now at home and making a good recovery.

The care Eva received from all the doctors and nurses within the children's emergency department and on the Starfish ward was above a beyond a level we could have possibly hoped for. The care she was given was always professional and to extremely high standards but even more important was the genuine empathy shown by all members of staff. As well as the tremendous care given to our daughter the staff also provided amazing support for us as parents which was invaluable during a very difficult two weeks.
