Hi!

My name is Fiona and I've had ME for 9 years now. In the last 18 months I have severely deteriorated to a point where I rarely leave the house because I do not have the energy to do so.

ME (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis) or CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome) as it's often referred to is an illness with very little research funding given to it. If we can't find a cause then we can't find a cure. It's as simple as that! And please do not think this illness is not fatal for people because it is.

So, my husband Greg and I have decided to raise money for this charity anyway we can. We've started off by selling bits and bobs that we no longer need and Greg has organised a litter pick up through his company Illuminet Solutions. And hopefully, instead of Christmas cards this year I hope friends and family will donate to this charity as we will be doing.

Invest in ME Research is an independent UK charity finding, funding and facilitating a strategy of biomedical research into Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME or ME/CFS).The charity is run by volunteers - patients or parents of children with ME - with no paid staff.Overheads are kept to a minimum and all funds raised to go to promoting education of, and funding for biomedical research into, ME.Our efforts are focused on setting up a UK Centre of Excellence for ME which will provide proper examinations, diagnosis and in time treatment(s)/cure(s).
