Freeman Fisher's Louise Goodwin, Daniel Rodgerson and Emma Jones are set to take part in a charity bike ride from Manchester to Blackpool on Sunday 9 July 2017 in aid of the Christie.
They will join over 6,000 other cyclists on a 60 mile route of scenic countryside (including some challenging hills!) starting from the Imperial War Museum on Salford Keys and finishing on Blackpool's South Promenade. The team are training hard and will be ready to set off from Manchester at 8:00am on 9 July 2017.
The Christie is one of Europe's leading cancer centres and is proud to provide patients with the best standard of care within a world class centre. The charity raises money in order to develop four vital areas including:
- Care and treatment - to provide state-of-the-art equipment for diagnosis and treatment
- Research - to improve treatment and diagnosis for cancer patients across the world
- Education - to shape future talent at their School of Oncology
- Extra patient services - to provide those little things such as relaxing massages, wigs and art classes
The money raised from The Christie Manchester to Blackpool Bike Ride helps to provide inspiration and hope to cancer patients and their families, as well as helping to carry out more research, give more people the very best treatment and care and save even more lives.
