Rhino Charge Kenya 2016 · 30 May 2016 ·

Rhino Ark raises money for the building of electric eco-fences around mountain ecosystems in Kenya, namely Aberdare National Park, Mt. Kenya and Mau Eburu. These provide an "ark" for wildlife such as rhino, leopard, elephant and mountain bongo as well as protecting vital upland watertables of Kenya

Story

The “Frying Squad” is at it once again.  After successfully completing the
2015 Rhino Charge and raising over 1,000,000.00 shillings for the Rhino Ark, we hope to raise more money and do even better in the Rhino Charge 2016 where participants and spectators come together to raise money for the Rhino Ark.

The Rhino Charge is a gruelling 4WD race representing one of the toughest off-road challenges in the world.  The objective is to complete 13 check points across the most gruelling terrain in the shortest distance within a 10 hour time limit. It is about determination, commitment, team-building and above all charity.  All money raised through this event is donated to the Rhino Ark.

The Rhino Ark Charitable Trust aims to preserve Aberdare National
Park which is one of the most spectacular wildlife areas in East Africa. It is a mountainous area containing a wealth of species including the endangered black rhino, elephants & the Bongo.

Unfortunately, the forest and its endangered wildlife have been under increasing threat due to poaching & illegal logging and we need to act fast to save this wonderful ecosystem for future generations.  The Rhino Ark Charitable Trust was formed in 1988 to help protect the Black Rhino from the brink of extinction when it was being mercilessly poached for its horn.  The trust has since evolved into a conservation project for the entire Aberdare region and has been extremely successful.

The Rhino Ark Charitable Trust aims to preserve this wonderful ecosystem and resolve the human-wildlife conflict by constructing and maintaining an electric fence to keep the animals in and the poachers and loggers out.   You can get more information about the Trust at:  www.rhinoark.org

Please give whatever you can, it all adds up.   Please also provide us with your corporate stickers which can be placed on the car and any banners that you wish to be displayed in the Frying Squad campsite.

Thank you so much for your support and generosity
