Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
With my mid-life crisis well and truly engaged, I’ve rather impulsively
signed up to an Olympic distance triathlon in just a couple of weeks time. For those that don't know, an Olympic distance triathlon consists of a 1500m swim, a 45km bike ride, and a 10km run. My swimming isn't great, my cycling is average at best, and I hate running. Should be a breeze.
To cap it all, this particular triathlon has been described by serious triathletes as 'a brut' - and did I mention it's on 24th July. Bugger.
Why then would I put myself through this?
Osman House works under the Disabilities Trust helping individuals through guided rehabilitation programmes to ideally smooth their reintroduction to the wider community. I've seen first-hand the exceptional support this small arm of the charity undertakes every day. In addition, having a very close friend go through the trauma of a serious stroke I have witnessed the devastation such injuries have on family life and the necessity to have charities on hand to support long term.
All funds raised will go straight to Osman House, where even a little can be put to good use. Details can be found here..
