Story
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my page!
As part of small team of professionals I shall be travelling to Ethiopia, Africa in September 2019 to train local volunteers (leading workshops & visiting children's shelters and self-help groups).
I shall spend time with vulnerable children involved in slavery, hopefully illustrating someone cares.
I will pay my travel costs myself but I have also committed to raising at least £2,000 to go directly to the charity.
The Hope for Justice Africa project focuses on restoring the lives of child exploitation victims and preventing trafficking across Ethiopia, Uganda and Zimbabwe.
It's crazy to learn that in this day and age more people (approximately 25 million globally) are affected by slavery.
The reason I'm getting involved is because I don't want to spend my life entirely consumed by my own personal goals and desires from the life, ignorant to the world around me.
I recognise I'm very lucky to live in a country where education and opportunity is not class dependent. Not everyone has had the same start.
The opportunity to share my knowledge and skillset and work with people who have been trafficked, exploited and abused is amazing. Hope for justice provides food, shelter, counselling and a safe place for such children.
I'd really appreciate your support!
All my love, Gemma xxx
