Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I appreciate you popping in and hopefully you will make a donation to Boxer Rescue Services (Southern). Every penny counts and if you are able to Gift Aid it, the tax man will help us as well. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Most of you will remember Ben, he was the lovely Boxer we rescued in July 2014 and who, tragically, we lost to his illness on May 10th 2016; he was 3 years old. In that very short period he made a very big impression on us and everyone he met, he was playful and inquisitive, everything to Ben was new and he wanted to explore and understand, but mostly play. Life to Ben was fun. Life with Ben was fun. We were devastated when he left us and there isn't a day goes by when we don't think about him or pass comment. He will be with me as I cross Scotland in May, in my memory and in that special corner of us where we hold those cherished memories. I'm doing this walk for myself and for Ben and all the other Ben's that Boxer Rescue Services help. The money I hope to raise will enable them to rescue and rehome more Ben's and help them to have happy lives, wherever they may have started out.

What is the TGO Challenge? Take a look at the following link for a taste: http://www.tgochallenge.co.uk/ it can explain it far better than I can.

Thank you for reading this far but mostly, thank you for donating whatever you feel is appropriate.

About the charity

Our charity exists to alleviate suffering and distress to dogs, and in particular to the breed known as Boxers. We were formed in the early 1970's to rehome Boxer dogs and became a registered charity in 1986. We are independent from any breed club or any other rescue organisation and operate mainly in Kent, Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire. Boxers come to us for a variety of reasons: breakdown in marriages/partnerships, owner's Illness or other changes in family circumstances, some dogs have been abused or neglected, and some are simply no longer wanted. All of our dogs are fully vaccinated, neutered and microchiped before being settled into a new and loving home which has been previously checked by us and found to be suitable. Our goal is to quickly find our dogs new and happy homes where they will be wanted and loved.
