I've never ran a long distance, but im determined to run the 2019 london Marathon for #TeamTorri

The Children with Cancer uk charity was founded by Eddie and Marion O'Gorman in 1987 after their son Paul and daughter Jean passed away from cancer just 9 months apart.

With the help of Princess Diana a few days after Jean's death, The charity was born and has been helping families and children with cancer ever since.

After hearing that my friend in the Round Table had just found out that his daughter Torri was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, I wanted to help to do something, and after Kirsty's inspiring marathon efforts last year I wanted to run for them and to raise money.

I applied to another charity but luckily after a few phone calls I was offered a place with the Children with Cancer UK team, which I hope to do everything I can for.

Torri is in the same school as my daughter, and personally I couldn't imagine getting that news and coping with the same grace and incredible resilience as Simon and Nat have, and Torri too has shown true determination and amazing spirit by receiving all the treatments she has to endure and still coming to school when well enough which is inspirational to everyone she meets. 

I'm hoping that by training and running and raising money for Torri and her family, they will know we are out there and thinking of them.
