Story
I have worked for the Quicken Trust for nearly 9 years and during that time have come to know the sufferings and successes of our friends in the village of Kabubbu, Uganda. Many of them have worked in the local quarry, especially the mums, for many years as their only form of income. This backbreaking work involves smashing big boulders into small stones to be sold to the construction industry. For this they would receive only £4 per week and this would have to provide food, rent and any medical bills for their children. Now the quarry has been sold AND CLOSED DOWN.ource of income has disappeared. With no Welfare State in Uganda unless you earn an income you starve, are made homeless and die from any health problems. Your children are forced to leave school through lack of school fees. How awful must that be? When Trevor and I go to Kabubbu in October we hope to be able to help some of those families who are now in CRISIS.When we sit down with our families, as shown in my picture, we often forget how blessed we are that we can put food on the table, please help us to put food on the plates of some of those in desperate need. Yours in Christian love Gillian& Trevor. Thank you for taking the time to read our Just Giving Page
