Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm not quite sure how this has happened but I am attempting to get round the 26 miles and the all important 385 yards. I am NOT a runner and this will be massively outside of my comfort zone, I mean massively and one of my aims is to get round before they switch the lights off!! More importantly however is the main aim and the reason I am going to drag this body round the course is to raise awareness of the importance of athletes mental well being. I feel it is vitally important to always remember that Performance Athletes in any sport are human beings before they are athletes. How they are perceiving their world at any given moment in my opinion is critical to their performance, quality of training and internal motivation. The phrase "playing with a smile on your face" in my coaching experience has always produced a more accomplished and complete performance as well as a more measured response to the outcome.

Running to raise money for the Samaritans, who are not only their to help when the going gets really tough but are also genuine promotors in raising awareness about how powerful simple communication is. Encouraging us all to stop and spend time to talk to somewhere about where we are at and for us to be heard is hugely powerful and it is for this reason I am doing this crazy run which will take me forever!! So please donate what you can so we can help the Samaritans to continue their great work in raising awareness about mental wellbeing and the power of expressing how you feel and seeking support early.

Many thanks for your support.

Best wishes  Giselle
