Story

The Challenge 

365 5 kilometre runs runs will be completed in 365 days. In total the runs will cover 1825 kilometres (1134 miles).

Rules

  1. All 5 kilometre runs will be completed in less than 35 minutes (not walking pace)
  2. All 5KM runs will be completed without use of a treadmill.
  3. Where possible runs will be completed on the basis of one a day. 
  4. Where a run is not possible due to illness, adverse weather etc. a run can be missed, but this run will need to be made up within 7 days.
  5. If more than one run is completed in the same day there must be at least 1 hour between the end of the first run and the commencement of the second. A 10 kilometre run does not count as two 5 kilometre runs.
  6. All runs will tracked and the Strava activity logged on this page.

Why?

To raise money for the Brain Tumour Research

Why Brain Tumour Research?

My Dad died of a Brain Tumour in 2003 when I was 17. I am raising funds for Brain Tumour Research in his memory and in the hope that significant breakthroughs can be made in the treatment of Brain Cancer.

Why now?

The first run was scheduled for 12th September 2021. This would have been my Dads birthday.

What am a looking forward to most in the challenge?

The positive impact of daily exercise in my physical and mental health.

What am I most worried about?

The challenge and relentless of fitting in a 5 kilometre run into my schedule every single day. Getting injured or sick.
