Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My beautiful cousin died on December 16th after losing her battle with cancer. She was 48. She got married 6 weeks before she died to her long term partner and her two beautiful daughters were bridesmaids.

When someone dies everyone says how amazing they were. They say they were kind, caring, unselfish and beautiful. In Tracy's case, there are no words to describe the type of person she was. She was all these things and more in every way. She was just one of life's lovely lovely people. Our lives will always never be as bright without her. But the vicar asked us to pick a quality and be more like her. We will all try to do that.

In her final weeks she was looked after by this hospice and we are raising money for them in her name. Each one of us is doing a challenge.

The boys will climb Snowdon for the first time.  It'll be quite a challenge for them this summer but they are up for it!  We will all complete this one together.

In the summer I will do the Yorkshire three peaks challenge...24 miles. It'll be a challenge in itself but it's also a training walk for an even bigger one in September....The Bullock Smithy Challenge.  Yes, I am going to attempt a 56 mile walk in the Peak District, to be completed within 24 hours.  I'll start at 12pm and (hope to ) complete it by 12pm the following day, walking all through the night in my local area. It's a terrifying one. It's 3 times longer than I've ever done before. I desperately hope to make it all of the way round but I also know that it's massively challenging and that the bus of shame might run me home instead as I'm very daunted by it and not even sure I'm capable of it!  I'll give it my best shot though and hope you won't want your money back if I only get to 40 miles.... ;-)

Simon will complete The Dodd Family challenge by completing the Great North Run, which felt like a fitting end for us for a North east charity. We hope some of Tracy's friends and family will join us at the end of the race to raise a toast to her and to the end of our fundraising.

We will have finished these challenges by the date of what would have been her 1st wedding Anniversary in October. Please help us to remember her and help other families like hers.
