I can't believe I've signed up for this.....

When?  On Sunday October 6th, I am running the Cardiff half-marathon to raise money to pay for a conservation education programme at a secondary school in rural Uganda, that I know well and where I have worked before. The students are really fun and inspiring.

Why?  Many Ugandan students don't realise what amazing and unique wildlife they have in their country. They can't afford to visit the parks and school trips to the parks are impossible due to lack of money and transport

How will the money help exactly?  Any money raised will specifically pay for:

1) a series of conservation talks by a team of experts - to raise awareness and promote wildlife conservation in Uganda

2) a visit to Uganda's Rhino Sanctuary, to take a group of students to see the rare and endangered 'white' rhino - to help the  students see how they can really make a difference.

The more money I raise, the more students can be included!

So... the white rhino can run 50 km per hour.... I won't run the Cardiff half quite as fast... but I will run a good, steady pace to finish the 13.1 miles and help promote education and rhino conservation in Uganda.... please give me as much as you can  to help fund this great project.

SO - WHAT WILL YOUR MONEY DO??

1. Introduce conservation talks in school

2.Take students to Uganda's rhino sanctuary

3. Inspire a new generation to take conservation seriously, train as wildlife rangers, thereby protecting Uganda's unique heritage.

 

Dig deep so I can catch up with the rhino..... perhaps ..
