Story

The Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia (HSP) Support Group is a registered
charity which aims to help people diagnosed with Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia [also known as Familial Spastic Paraparesis]. 
 HSP is a diagnosis which covers a range of rare genetic disorders.  People of all age groups can be affected. The main symptoms are stiffness and/or paralysis in the lower limbs. HSP causes degeneration of the upper motor neurons within the brain and spinal cord.

Through this site you can sponsor me as I embark on 3 Marathons and 2 Ultra Marathons each progressively more difficult than the last.  My aim is simple, raise as much hard cash as I can for this well deserving 
charity, for every pound I raise my employer, Atos IT Services UK Ltd, will match, it up to £200 for each event, so please give as much or as little as you can as for every £1 donated HSP Support Group will receive £2.25 (with Gift Aid).

17 November 2016  -  Brecon Beacons Ultra, 46 miles

About the charity

We help people affected by HSP, their families and carers by the provision of support, information and advice. We can provide grants to help members with the purchase of mobility aids and provide funding for research into this very rare condition.
