Story
During Walk to Work Week (on Thursday 16 May) I’ll be attempting to walk from my home to the iconic Co-operative Pyramid in Stockport where I work.
I’m combining this challenge with trying to raise money for the Carers Trust, the current charity partner of the Co-operative. We’re striving to support young adult carers to help them have time to grow, time to live & time to be themselves.
Nearly half a million young people in the UK, aged 14–25, are caring for a family member or friend who is ill, frail, disabled or has mental health or addiction problems.
The 9km route will take me through Haughton Dale, along the river Tame through Hardy Wood, past Castle Hill, Crookilley Wood & Midshires Way, under the magnificent Stockport Viaduct & conclude along the cherry-blossom-lined banks of the river Mersey.
This will be the last chance to sponsor me as I’m leaving the Co-operative in June, so please be generous & help me go out with a flourish.
