Help Frida Kahlo to take flight!
We need your help to support The Four Fridas, a hugely ambitious, outdoor theatre spectacle, which will premiere at this summer’s Greenwich+Docklands International Festival from 1 – 4 July.
Celebrating the life and work of the legendary Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, The Four Fridas will bring together stunning staging with elements of ritual, music, narration, contemporary dance, video, pyrotechnics and aerial choreography. It will be an unforgettable occasion, bringing the dramatic story of this iconic artist to London, in spectacular style.
Flight and the aspiration to fly is a key theme in Frida Kahlo’s art and life; the production takes inspiration from this, recalling the quotation from Frida’s notebook in 1953, when facing the amputation of her leg, she wrote, “Feet, what need do I have of you, when I have wings to fly?”.
To ensure that this exceptional production can take flight this summer, we need your support. We need to raise an additional £30,000 to ensure that The Four Fridas will be every bit as extraordinary as the awesome artist who inspires it.
And this is where we need your help! If you love Frida Kahlo, or know someone who does; or if you love GDIF or just love the idea of free outdoor arts, you can be part of this exceptional project. Any donation that you can make, whether large or small will help The Four Fridas take flight.
We’re planning to produce a souvenir programme at The Four Fridas and will be including a list of all our donors so please support The Four Fridas today!
Please note that there are reserved paid tickets available for The Four Fridas in additional to substantial FREE walk-up standing room for each performance. To reserve tickets, please visit our website.
