Story

VSO

VSO have projects all over the world with the aim of fighting poverty through action of individuals. Although they are hugely funded by the British government, they still require constant support in order to be effective.

India

I will be travelling to Manthan, India in July with a team to spend a number of months working with Pravah, establishing health camps so doctors can effectively screen and treat patients. We will also be working on developing the resources currently available in this rural area and undertaking further research into efficient action among many other initiatives.

The cycle

Prior to departure I am aiming to raise as much money as possible, therefore on the 10th of June I will begin my cycle from the Hook of Holland to Rome.

The cycle is approximately 2000km, expected to take around 20 days with a minimum target of 100km per day. It covers a huge variety of terrain, including cycling over the alps!

As I will be paying all costs of the trip I am planning to sleep in a tent most nights and eat only basic food from supermarkets throughout.

##BONUS DONATIONS##

£25 will get a forfeit of your choosing (use your imagination!)

£50 will get an item of clothing (think tutu, silly hat not gorrila costume please!) that I will wear the whole way.

About the charity

VSO is an international development organisation that brings people together to share skills, build capabilities, and change lives to make the world a fairer place for all. Everyday, VSO volunteers are working to empower people living in some of the world’s most marginalised communities.
