Me and Tom are running the Thorseby 10K in October for CES UK to raise money and awareness for those with CES.

I was diagnosed with Cauda Equina Syndrome (CES) when I was 16. After 2 emergency spinal surgeries I've been left with nerve damage, intermittent bladder function, severe lower back and leg pain and suffered with depression and anxiety as a direct result. 

"Cauda equina syndrome (CES) is a condition that occurs when the bundle of nerves below the end of the spinal cord known as the cauda equina is damaged. Signs and symptoms include low back pain, pain that radiates down the leg, numbness around the anus, and loss of bowel or bladder control."

It is a life changing condition that needs to be diagnosed as soon as possible to prevent loss of limb function and life long incontinence. 

1 in 70,000 people is affected every year.

CES UK Charity does amazing work in raising awareness with their Leicester based charity shop, the work they do with doctors and nurses in educating them in how to spot CES sooner, the helpline they run for people struggling with their or a loved ones diagnosis and the free legal services they provide to patients. 

Your donation will go towards producing up to date information for doctors and nurses and help keep the helpline running. 

Alot of people diagnosed with CES aren't even able to walk after their surgery so to be running a 10K (however long that will take!!) is really exciting. 

This is a charity very close to my heart and we thank you in advance for helping us raise money towards their work
