Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have been lucky enough to be offered a place to represent The Fire Fighter’s Charity in running the London Marathon 2019. Having only joined the London Fire Brigade in 2017, I am delighted to have this opportunity.

Fire Fighters across the country work tremendously hard within communities to help maintain safety, often putting themselves and even their families at risk physically and mentally. In the
short space of time being in this job and over my Dad’s career in the London Fire Brigade, I have seen the amazing work the Charity does. My Dad has had residential rehabilitation for a back injury, as did a current colleague of mine for a shoulder injury and several of my colleagues have been offered or have had counselling. These are just a few examples of the great work and vast opportunities provided by the Charity that requires funding directly from Firefighter’s themselves each month and generous donations made by members of the public who want to support this great charity. Therefore, I would greatly appreciate if you could contribute, big or small, to my target of raising £2000 and sponsor me in completing the London Marathon.

Not only have I followed in my Dad’s footsteps in becoming a Firefighter, but also I will be using my competitive nature to complete this tough challenge and beat my Dad’s time set in 2001 of 4 hours and 49 minutes. I set this goal the moment my Dad crossed the line, when I was 9 years old. I vividly remember saying: “I’ll run the marathon one day and I’ll beat Dad’s time”. Little did I know that I’d be doing it as a Fire Fighter myself, representing The Fire Fighter’s Charity.

I hope you agree that this is a great cause and will kindly support my venture to achieve my ambition of completing the London Marathon 2019.

Thank you!
