We provide help and hope to everyone living with dementia.

Story

Five or so years ago my Dad had a stroke. Like a bolt of lightening to us all this shocked the family and changed my Dad for good.

Although unable to speak, walk properly or recognise us, he still smiled and laughed, hummed away to himself in the hospital.

He's alot better now but the stroke left him unable to remember the year or where we are, he often factually tells me we are in Kansas, where he was born. He tells me stories of people that happened yesterday that actually happened when he was a kid. He’s never lost his sense of humour and his friendship with my mother is rock solid as they hold hands when they watch TV.

My mum is his full time carer and holds his hand as they walk down the road, for affection and for keep safe.

Throughout my Dad’s illness he has been a kind, good humoured gentle man, an example to us all. He is a ray of sunshine, kind, friendly and cheerful and it's all very genuine. He has been going to art classes through his illness and making amazing ceramics. http://leeroymiller.blogspot.com/

I want to do this walk for both my parents. I would like to gather information about how other’s cope and to raise money for a charity that helps people like my Dad.

Although he is from Kansas my father hugely loves London and would take us as kids for long walks through the city. So if he could he would come too. For you Dad!
