Story
For every Happy Hatter Party that you book, £1 will be donated to Raise the Roof.
Raise the Roof works with developing communities in Africa to empower their visions and build sustainable futures. With a focus on education, healthcare, sport and equality. RTR will use profits to support projects such as a vocational training school, a sports hub a medical clinic or a girls empowerment day.
Raise the Roof was founded in 2010 by Holly Bantleman after a life changing trip to Kenya in which she decided to help a small community living on a dumpsite, find the necessary funds to protect their homes in the rainy season. With this, raise the roof was born. Over time Holly built close connections with the people she worked with and particularly a young boy she supported through RTR's outreach programmes. The tragic loss of this boy to HIV was a transitional point, and she made the decision for RTR to become a long term project.
Holly and her incredible team have gone on to form strong community, government and local organisation partnerships. Together they have built the highest ranking vocational training school in the country with a 100% pass rate. They run community training programmes, offer computer classes, run sports programmes, HIV prevention and now holistic and inclusive gender equality programmes through Raise her Voice.
RTR aims for all of its ventures to be managed and sustained in country by the people that benefit from them.
RTR takes a fun, energetic and positive approach to development, meaning that the team, donors and beneficiaries are inspired, motivated and proud members of the Raise The Roof tribe.
