Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!

I'm really excited to be running the London Marathon just 12 weeks time - eek! I'm running on behalf of the Natural History Museum who I'm sure you'll agree are a great cause and do amazing work in research and education for the natural world.

There are a few reasons why I am running the marathon. Running for me is pivotal to managing a fairly new relationship with anxiety. It really is the key to my headspace and I am so grateful that I have the ability to put some shoes on and head out the door when things get too much. I've wanted to run the marathon for a couple of years, and decided it was an aim to do so before I'm 30. After a couple of ballot entries and my best friend getting married on the marathon weekend in 2020, well it just had to be this year!

As new member of the NHM team I hopped on the chance to run on behalf of the museum. It really is a wonderful place to work and houses both current research projects and historical artifacts, crucial to learning and preserving our planet. As a history fanatic for me I want to raise money to support the preservation of collections such as Darwin's original manuscript of Origins of Species and his findings on the Beagle expedition. Education is also another reason this museum is wonderful, it operates for free and during half term we had 23,000 visitors in just one day! The museum relies on private donations and for every donation you directly enabling thousands to come and learn every week.

I'm aiming to raise £1200, any donation big or small will go towards keeping this historic institution open for free forever.

Thank you in advance for your support!
