Story

My name is Harrison and I am 14 years old.
I am pictured above with my mum, dad and older sister, Daisy.
On the 10th April 2019, I was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia, an aggressive kind of blood cancer.
Before that, I was totally fit and healthy and loved to play football. My favourite team is Sheffield United.
So far I have received two rounds of chemotherapy but I’ve been told I need a stem cell transplant as my Leukaemia could come back. So far only a 90% match has been found for me. I am really grateful to the amazing Doctors and Nurses on Ward 6 at Sheffield Children's Hospital who have been looking after me.

On the 28th July my family and friends are organising the #harrisonkicksleukaemia Sports Day at the English Institute of Sport, Sheffield. There will be five-a-side football, a fun run and loads of other exciting activities to join in with. Best of all, every single penny from the day will go to helping Ward 6 at the Children's Hospital!

As well as raising money for Ward 6 at The Children's, volunteers from the Anthony Nolan Charity will be there to take mouth swabs and add as many people as possible to the Stem Cell database.... It's quick and painless I promise! Check them out at:

Thanks a lot for reading my story,
