We provide patient support & fund research to help people have useful sight for life

Story

On March 17th, I will be running the Reading half marathon, to raise money for the International Glaucoma association, which is a charity close to my heart.

My late Grandfather Arthur, was diagnosed with Glaucoma in his mid forties and therefore lost sight in one eye. After going through amazing treatment his eye was replaced with a glass eye when he was 64, which he had for a number of years. Partially losing his eyesight caused him and my Nan to face problems for a number of years that we take for granted every day.

Glaucoma is the most common cause of preventable blindness in the UK and over 11,000 people are newly-diagnosed every year. Imagine what it would mean to you to gradually lose your sight, not see your children or loved ones or be able to drive. The IGA is the charity for people with glaucoma, funding research and providing patient support to all who request it. The IGA is reliant on donations so your support makes a real difference. Blindness from glaucoma can be prevented and together we can seek to find a cure.

Any donations to this wonderful charity would be greatly appreciated!
