Thank you so much for supporting me and others. I believe it is important  for us to challenge ourselves mentally and physically, in order to grow as people.  This is a huge challenge for me as I haven't swam in open water for over 10 years!  I am alot older and a little fatter now so added layer of challenge!  

I intend to swim 1 mile across lake Windamere, which is 70 lengths of a 25m pool.  Those that have swam in open water will know this is more challenging to swim in open water, as you also have the elements to contend with.  I also believe in helping others and giving back.  We all know someone who has been affected by cancer.  Macmillan Cancer Support helps everyone with cancer so they can live life as fully as they can, providing physical, financial and emotional support.
