Its prime purpose is to provide appropriate help, medical, financial and otherwise, to current and retired jockeys who are injured, unable to ride or in need.

Story

An armchair jockey for many a year, I've decided to take a step up in grade to a real horse - sounds simple enough...

Having been a fair weather, when-the-notion-takes-me weekend rider at Jessica Harrington's for a while (my skills a source of amusement for all at Commonstown) I'm upping the ante to ride in the St Patrick's Derby Charity Race at Cheltenham on 12 March 2015 to raise money for The Injured Jockeys Fund. Seeing as I'm being "a sport" for a deserving cause, I think you should too by donating. So, as the wise Mrs Doyle in Father Ted once said "Go on, go on, go on, go on, go on!"
