Brighton and London Marathons · 12 April 2015
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2001. In 2002 she suffered a bad fall. She died a year later, but we felt we had lost her long before that. Since then I've been committed to raising funds and local awareness for Alzheimer's society. Having registered for this years Brighton Maraton I was then lucky(!) enough to get a place for London through Alzheimer's society. The two Marathons are just two weeks apart so quite a challenge for me! They will be my 12th and 13th Marathons and I hope to raise £2,000 with your help. This will bring my fund raising for the society to over £21,000 in total since 2004. This is such a worthwhile cause. As the population continues to age many of us are or will be affected by dementia in some way. Alzheimer's society is the UK's leading dementia care and research charity for people with dementia, their families and carers. It also provides support and care for people with dementia. Please help if you can, and look out for some fund raising events coming soon!
