We raise funds to support The Walton Centre in Liverpool

Story

It's been approximately 2 years since I donned my running shoes and took part in any form of organised run, and on Sunday 25th September, I'll be dusting off the 'Asics' and attempting to finish the Natterjack 10k.

It's been known for me to take part in a few famed races in the past however, since the arrival of little Miss Moon 3 months ago, my back, ankles and knees are not what they used to be (not to mention other things!), so this will certainly be a challenge, and that's just finding the time to train!.

Why? Well I'm running, along with a group of school alumni, in memory of my old school friend Jemma Cottier, who sadly passed away at the start of this year following a devastating stroke suffered just before Christmas 2015. Just 42 she's left behind an amazing loving family and so many friends, and is a huge inspiration to so many that knew her.

It's Jemma's family's wish for funds to be raised for The Walton Centre, the only specialist hospital trust in the UK dedicated to providing neurology, neurosurgery, spinal and pain management services.  Their specialist team took care of Jemma during those final weeks, and rely on funds to develop their neurology and spinal services further to support patients suffering from a wide range of long-term neurological conditions.

Please give generously! It's such an amazing cause and all in memory of a lovely lady. £10,000 has been raised in Jemma's name to date and every little goes such a long way.

I'll keep you updated on the training progress...
