Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In 2013 I suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury, leaving me with Epilepsy, losing my sense of taste & smell completely and for nearly 4 years, my hearing in one ear........I am a Survivor at the end of the day & very thankful. I am still going through recovery, getting treatment, having to cope with a hidden disability now and the "you are ok because you look it" comments! I am now beginning to accept this is for the rest of my life and this is because of Headway North Cumbria who listen, understand, guide me & advise me. Without them I cannot imagine where I would be today. I have made a lovely group of friends. My swim on the 30th November 2019 is to say thank you for everything they do & to give something back for the help they give me.

Headway North Cumbria is a local branch of the national charity Headway - the brain injury association.  Headway North Cumbria is dedicated to assisting those affected by acquired brain injuries to adjust or return to community living, including access to appropriate accommodation, social outlets and productive activity.  In addition to providing ongoing support, guidance and information, it also provides a range of services at its weekly Day Centre as well as arranging frequent outings, events, presentations and activity weekends for its members. Further details on the charity can be found on its website - www.headwaynorthcumbria.org.uk

Soooooooo...........Thank you Headway North Cumbria!

Please help me to raise money to support this deserving charity.

Thank you
