On 10th February, one of the coldest days of the year, Cats Protection Hornchurch Branch were alerted to a box that had been left in doorway. The box contained a mum cat and her three kittens. Mum and her kittens were taken straight to the vets. The vet estimated the mum to be only around a year old and the kittens to be less than 5 weeks old. Thank goodness someone had called us as we would hate to think what could have happened to this vulnerable family.
The vet checked the mum and kittens over and they received immediate treatment for a flea infestation (which can be fatal for kittens if left untreated) But of most concern to the vet was that one little kitten held it's leg in an awkward position. Upon X-ray it showed the little kitten has a broken elbow which will need treatment.
This poor little kitten (now aptly named Guinness) hasn't had a good start in life. But we are hoping that you will help, by contributing towards the cost of the treatment she will need to get her well and ready for her forever home.
Any donations received over and above needed for Guinness's treatment will go towards other cats and kittens in our care.
thank you for caring.
