Henry's Awareness Challenges for Sarcoidosis UK

Henry's Awareness and Fund Raising Events for Sarcoidosis UK · 11 April 2022
This year marks just over 5 years since I started the fightback from multiple organ Sarcoidosis an incurable disease that destroyed my self-worth, confidence and darkened my outlook on life.
It took just over 2 years of tests before I was diagnosed with multiple organ sarcoidosis that included; Cardiac, Pulmonary, Neuro, Spinal Cord, Ocular and Skin Sarcoidosis. Recovery had been fraught with uncertainty over an exceedingly difficult and excruciating painful 7-year period that often left me overwhelmed with frequent and life threatening bouts of illness.
Thanks to the benefit of changes in my nutrition and living an active and healthy lifestyle, I am now fit and able with good health.
Sarcoidosis is classified as an auto immune inflammatory disease. It has no known cause or cure. It means that the body’s natural specialist defence cells when working well eliminate threats quickly and effectively but when these cells are low in balance, they work against the body attacking its healthy tissue and thus, causing infection that leads to inflammation and damage to one’s organs.
As Sarcoidosis UK Charity Ambassador 2023 and long sufferer, I am motivated and inspired to help bring greater education and awareness and give hope to the many suffering from this condition.
My aim is to raise a minimum of £3,000 by pledging to complete one challenge every month from April to September and in the process shine a light on sarcoidosis and raise much needed funds for research and support.
Sarcoidosis UK and I will be extremely grateful for your donation so please help by donating and supporting me in my quest to raise the much-needed funding for this amazing Charity.
I take this opportunity to extend my gratitude to all who have taken time to read my story and supported Sarcoidosis UK through my just giving page.
