During my year as High Sheriff of Hertfordshire I hope to raise money for the small local charities that make such a difference to so many in our county. 

Hertfordshire is a county of great contrasts with pockets of real deprivation and need, and the work that these charities and voluntary organisations do is vital. They need our support to make Hertfordshire a better place for everyone. 

I will be working to help build stronger communities of all sorts and am particularly interested in integration, interfaith and wellbeing initiatives that bring all sorts of people together, and foster a real sense of community spirit and care of others.

The Hertfordshire Community Foundation, with its extensive knowledge of local charities and voluntary organisations, will help me match your donations with local need so that they can be used effectively and where they are most required.
