We provide inclusive dance opportunities to empower people with learning disabilites

Story

This is a just-giving page in memory of Paul Bacon who has recently died.

Paul was a loving, caring husband, father and grandfather. He was a special figure to many people, not only to his close family and wider family, but also to his many colleagues and friends across the world. He will be hugely missed for his dry wit, wisdom and challenging way of thinking.

He had a great breadth of interests not only in science and medicine, particularly rheumatology and immunology, but also across the arts.

After moving to Clitheroe he became very involved with the charity DanceSyndrome and took on the role of chairman of the board of trustees for the charity. He enjoyed his involvement in the charity immensely and was able to help them in moving forward with their very rewarding work.

About DanceSyndrome: Established in 2009, DanceSyndrome was the
inspiration of founder and Creative Director, Jen Blackwell, who has
Down’s syndrome, and wanted to follow her dream of being a dancer and dance leader. DanceSyndrome believe that everyone has the right to follow their own interests and passions – whether they have a disability or not. All their dance activity is led and informed by people with learning disabilities. DanceSyndrome activities give people confidence, respect, value and self-belief through their philosophy of ‘anything is possible even though you have a learning disability’.
